Ingredients and Substitutions for Protein Snickers Slice
Soy Protein Crisps– Literally has the same texture as rice bubbles but its so high in protein! You can substitute this for equal parts rice bubbles. I use this brand from Coles, however for my American readers, I’ve found this brand on Amazon.
Protein Powder- I use the Deluxe Chocolate Protein from MacroMike. My affiliate code for Macromike is AMB-ELIYEATS (saves you 10%!). Can use whey or any other flavours
Peanut Butter- Natural and smooth works best, but you can use chunky
Powdered Peanut Butter– Keeps it lighter and lower in calories, but can sub for an extra 40g peanut butter
Mini Snickers Bars- Can sub for equal parts chocolate (45g) – only 3 mini snickers bars are used in this entire recipe.
Chocolate- For the chocolate top, I use a sugar free milk chocolate but any chocolate will work
Coconut Oil- Helps the chocolate harden and keeps it shiny
Tips
Line the pan with parchment paper: This will prevent the treats from sticking to the pan and make it easier to remove them.
Melt the snickers bars with extra chocolate and 1 tsp milk: over a bain marie or in the microwave in 30 second intervals
Allow it to set: Place the baking dish in the freezer and let it set for at least 30 minutes, or until firm. This will help the slice hold its shape when cut.
How to store Protein Snickers Slice

Chocolate top
- 80 g sugar free milk chocolate normal, dark or protein chocolate works
- 1 tsp coconut oil
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the soy protein crispies and protein powder, ensuring they are evenly mixed.
- In a microwave-safe bowl or over a bain-marie, melt the Snickers bars, chocolate and milk until smooth. Stir occasionally to achieve a homogeneous mixture.
- Mix Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter Powder mixture together.
- Pour the melted Snickers bar mixture and peanut butter mixture (reserve some for topping) into the bowl with the soy crispies and protein powder. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined, and a slightly sticky mixture forms. Adjust the consistency by adding more of the peanut mixture if it's too dry, or add additional crispies or protein powder if it's too wet.
- Line a pan with parchment paper. Transfer the mixture into the lined pan and use a wet spoon to evenly spread it out, ensuring it covers the entire pan.
- In a microwave-safe bowl or over a bain-marie, melt the chocolate and coconut oil until smooth. Stir occasionally to achieve a silky texture.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the protein crispies base, making sure it evenly coats the surface. Then swirl the rest of the peanut butter mix on top.
- Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for a minimum of 1 hour or until the slice is firm and set.
- Once chilled, remove the pan from the refrigerator and cut the slice into 9-12 pieces.Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the slices to add a touch of flavor.
