If you’re thinking “carrots as fries?”, trust me when I say they are DELICIOUS!
They are also super easy to make and require minimal ingredients, some of which you probably already have in your pantry.
Carrots are also super low calorie and combined with a minimal amount of oil, these fries are super low calorie and high volume!
You could also get creative with the seasonings, my favourite go to are a mix of salt, garlic powder, parmesan and mixed herbs!

Ingredients & Substitutions
Carrots- I find that 3 medium sized carrots works perfectly for 1 serve
Olive oil- Can substitute for any kind of oil
Salt
Garlic Powder- can sub for freshly minced garlic
Mixed herbs- Can omit
Freshly Grated Parmesan- Can omit but it works amazing in this recipe
How to make Carrot Fries Crispy?
The easiest way to make carrot fries extra crispy is to use an air fryer . If you don’t have an air fryer, you can still make them a bit crispier by sprinkling a tablespoon of cornstarch on to them.
Making the fries thinner also means they’ll become crispier.
Garlic and Parmesan Air Fryer Carrot Fries
Ingredients
- 3 medium carrots peeled and chopped into fries
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1.5 tsp grated parmesan
- 1/8 tsp salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp mixed italian herbs
High Protein Dijon Cottage Cheese Dip
- 100 g blended cottage cheese
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp sweetener
- 1-2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp acv or white vinegar
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp mixed herbs
Instructions
- Wash, peel and remove the ends of the carrots. Cut in the carrots into fries
- Add the chopped carrots into a bowl, add oil, seasonings and parmesan and toss with your hands to coat carrots evenly
- Transfer the carrots into an airfryer at 180c or 350F and air fry for 20 minutes, shaking or flipping half way through
- Oven: Bake at 220C OR 425F for 20-25 minutes, flipping half-way through
- Mix the high protein dip ingredients until well combined
- Garnish with extra parmesan and herbs
